Mommy friends,

Have you ever felt like the hustle is never ending?  (hello holidays)

Like you can’t keep up with life on so many levels?  (don’t even ask me about missing my daughters first ever recital)

Like your patience is just out of reach…. especially when its bedtime…….. and your kids are fighting……. and they refuse to brush their teeth?!   (um DAILY)

I’ve been there.  Believe me.  The struggle is REAL.

A few years ago I had enough.  I was bound and determined to improve my parenting.  To stop yelling, end the cycle of bad behavior with my kids and myself and finally get this parenting thing down.

Be careful what you wish for.

What transpired after launching that rocket of desire was a divine intervention from Oprah and Dr. Shefali Tsabary.  It was a great awakening that I REALLY needed.

Watch this video for that story…

Now here I am, on the other side of it.  I’ve been asked to speak about Happiness, Conscious Parenting, how to master manifesting.  I’ve taught workshops for parents and kids to help them shift their limiting beliefs and find more daily happiness.

Believe me, there are still times when I think ‘how did I get here’?  ‘Aren’t I the unconscious parent’?

And yet I still hear the call to share what I have learned.

Recently, I spoke at the Oak Park Women’s Guild.  What an amazing and inspiring group of women!  I talked about Mom Mastery (not actually possible) and how to find more happiness amongst the hustle.  I went over 6 steps that I’ve used to create everything I’ve ever wanted along this Mom journey.  The workshop was well received.  So much so that some of the women asked me to create some on going coaching.

And then OPRF Mom Squad was born.  I’ve been leading masterminds and accountability groups for over 20 years.  They are the #1 thing that has helped me to create immeasurable success in so many areas of my life.  I’ve started 3 businesses, I’m in the best shape of my life, I live in my dream home, and LOVE every inch of it. My husband and I have the closest relationship we’ve ever had in our 20 years together. (Ok maybe not when we picked out our Christmas tree last week, but still…)

And I’m now, finally, really feeling great about my parenting.  A powerful underlying indicator to all the above is our emotional life.  At this point in my life I feel like I’ve found a way to control my reactions. (#momwin)  I now know what to do with my stressful thoughts and how to handle my biggest challenges.  (i.e.: public school and my son Jack) The chutes and ladders are much shorter these days.  They’ll never be gone.  I get that.  But they’re MUCH easier than before.  And that’s all I can hope for.  I love my life.  And I’m really grateful for every moment.  It took work.  But I got there.

I created OPRF Mom Squad to help you get there too.  If you’re interested in joining click here to fill out this form. Or email me with any questions steffani@mylifebook.com

This powerful mastermind format will hold you accountable to be the Mom you’ve always wanted to be.

To be the Mom your kids need you to be.

It will help you to finally put your fearful thoughts and self doubt and limiting beliefs in place and move powerfully forward into a life you’re proud of.

What Mom Squad IS:

Community: surround yourself with other Moms who are sharing similar experiences raising kids in Oak Park and River Forest. Because you’re the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with and we’re going to up that average.

Accountability: nourish new relationships with women who will hold you accountable to the best version of you that you can be.

Growth: monthly content working on the 6 key strategies to improve your life and happiness.  Because if you don’t, no one else will.

Support: a supportive Facebook community that’s always got your back.

Positive, hopefully and happiness focused:  Happiness is the art of allowing and what we’re all after.  When we focus on our happiness we can raise happiness.

What Mom Squad ISN’T:

Typical:  You will not find your average woman here.  We’re here to live extraordinary lives.  We didn’t come this far to only come this far.

Negative: This is not the place to come to vent and moan about your existing conditions or problems.  There’s a way to search for solutions without complaint.

Stagnant: we will all be taking ACTION to move our lives forward.  No more programs without progress.

Passive: You need to participate in order to make powerful positive change.  Thus the accountability piece. #soimportant

Pushy: You are the master of your own experience, the more you put into it the more you’ll get out of it. But we will not show up at your doorstep to make sure you make the calls.  Unless you want us to. 🙂

4 Ways To Do More Of What You Love

4 Ways To Do More Of What You Love

About a month ago I spoke at a local women’s guild.

It might be my favorite thing in the world…. to share the tools that have helped me create more daily happiness with other moms.

It SETS ME ON FIRE!  It’s that thing I could do ALL DAY LONG and never tire of it.

I remember the first day I taught a workshop on something I LOVE.  The hours flew by.  I was energized and almost shaking from the inside out.  That’s how you know.

I didn’t always know.  About 10 years ago I started exploring my passion. I was on a quest to find it.  I hired a coach.  I read books.  I went to meet ups.  I hired another coach.  All in search of my “passion”.  I had NO idea what it was.  Or how to find it.

The good news is I did find it.  But not through those efforts.  I found my passion by following what I love.  I didn’t discover it like I thought, by searching for it.  I uncovered it by following my bliss.  By doing more of what I love and less of what I don’t.

It was a lot easier than I thought.  And now I help my clients hone in on what they love, what they’re passionate about.

Have you ever explored what you love?

What sets you on fire?

What could you do all day long and never want to stop?

What is the #1 topic you’d love to discuss at a dinner party?

Now we’re talking.  Once you tap into that you never turn back.

I know what you’re thinking…. “but what if I don’t know?”

Well I’m here to tell you, you DO know.  You know.  You’re just not tapping into it.

So many of my clients say they don’t know what they want.  They don’t know what they love.  They don’t know what they’re passionate about.

I’m sorry but you do!

You might be afraid of it.  You might be out of touch with it.  You might be denying it.  But you know.  Only YOU know!

If you are one of the many who don’t know what you’re passionate about.

Here are a few suggestions how you can tune back in.

#1.  Get quiet

We can’t hear our guidance when our monkey mind is busy chatting about our to do list.  When we get quiet we give our guidance a minute to speak up.  Have you ever sat and asked “what do I love?” “What is my passion?” Ask.  Sit.  Get quiet.  And ask again.  You’ll be amazed what comes up.

#2.  Look at what you look at

When you read a magazine what are you attracted to?  When you read a book what do you like to read about?  When you travel where do you go?  What are you drawn to?  What’s interesting to you?  What blogs do you read?  What podcasts do you listen to?  A lot of us have clear desires and interests but we just don’t realize they’re unique.  I had a talk with my sisters once many years ago.  We all thought the others were excited and interested in the same things.  I mean we’re sisters.  We have so many similarities and backgrounds.  But we were COMPLETELY different.  Tammi loves teaching aerobics and working out.  Terri loves taking care of kids and playing with babies.  I love singing, acting and speaking.  So different.  Look at what you’re interested in.  Follow that.

#3.  Look at what you DON’T want

When we feel we don’t know what we want.  We usually DO know what we DON’T want.  So here’s an easy process to look at that, taught to me by my awesome friend Michael Losier.

  • Take out a blank piece of paper and draw a line down the center of it
  • Write what you’re NOT passionate about on the left side
  • Then strike through each one and write something you ARE passionate about on the right side across the line

This easy process usually draws out a lot of things you DO want and you are interested in.  See what comes up for you.

#4.  Ask a friend

If you have a few close friends I’m 1000% sure they’ll have suggestions for you.  They will tell you where your expertise lies.  They’ll happily share with you what you love to do and talk about.  What you’re great at.  Don’t be surprised if they know before you do.  So check in with them.

If you still don’t know what you’re passionate about, email me.  I discovered my true passion over 10 years ago and tapped into some more beautiful processes how to help other women do the same.  In just one 90 minute session I can help you hone in on your top 5 passions and set a plan in motion how you can start moving towards them.  Knowing my top 5 passions helped me quit my full time job of over 17 years, start my own business, move into my dream house and travel to more tropical locations than I ever thought possible.  All of that began when I started following my top 5 passions.  I encourage you to do the same.

Now tell me….what do YOU love?

What I am MOST grateful for…..you’ll be surprised by the answer

What I am MOST grateful for…..you’ll be surprised by the answer

Hi my friend,

With Thanksgiving around the corner we’ve been talking a lot about what we’re grateful for. We have a big chalk board in our kitchen above our sink and we’ve been writing daily what we’re thankful for.

I know I’m supposed to say I’m most grateful for my family. And believe me I am. I’m not THAT person.

But there’s something I’m even more grateful for. No, not my husband, (sorry honey) or my Mom (please don’t ground me).

It’s actually accountability.

Ok hear me out. I’ve been in masterminds and accountability groups for over 20 years. Most of them I’ve been running. Accountability has been ESSENTIAL in my success. It’s honestly made me who I am as a woman, and as a parent.

Sure my Mom helped with that too. But with that alone and no accountability I’d be a totally different Mom. And my husband is ABSOLUTELY responsible for the love and abundance I have in my life. But without the accountability and the groups and the people in them I don’t know that I would have been ready to be the person I am and therefore marry him and have kids.

So you see I LITERALLY have accountability to thank for EVERYTHING.

My first accountability group was an actors group that I started right after college. I majored in Theater and didn’t know any other actors in Chicago. So I started a group. This was before the internet. Wow, how is that possible.?! So I put up a sign at a local acting school and asked people to join my group. We met monthly and held each other accountable for things we wanted to accomplish in the business. It was a HUGE success. The biggest one had 30 people attending for a few months. And it’s still an active group now, over 20 years later. I don’t run it anymore. Or even attend. But it’s still a group, now on meetup.com, that I started in my living room. I still stay in touch with a lot of people who I met in that group. Many of who are still working actors. I started another mastermind group after I attended Afest in 2012. The group was made up of 12 of my favorite entrepreneurs. We had 3 things in common. We’d all been to Afest. We had all attended a program called Lifebook. And we all had an abundant mentality. That group was 100% responsible for me starting my coaching business. If it wasn’t for them I would still be saying “I should start my own thing..”

Through more accountability groups I’ve now started 3 businesses, I’m in the best shape of my life, I signed a big commercial deal, I completed a ½ ironman, landed my dream job, landed my next dream job, booked dream speaking gigs at conferences and retreats, filled my private client base, bought my dream home, and I can say I finally after 8 years and after massive accountability understand my kids and feel really solid in my parenting. What what?!

Needless to say ACCOUNTABILITY can completely change your life for the better.

Do you have one?!

You NEED one.

Now that you’re hopefully convinced let me share some simple steps you can take to

starting your own mastermind group.

Step 1. Find 3 or more people with a common goal or similar interests
2 people does not make a mastermind. You can have 1 person hold you accountable but trust me, it doesn’t create a mastermind dynamic. 3 or more is ideal. 20 is usually max.

Step 2. Choose the date and time
Will you meet weekly or monthly? I found weekly is ideal if you’re trying to create the most impact.

Step 3. Create an agenda
This is key. You need a productive agenda for the whole group to follow. Happy to suggest a few. Email me if you’re interested in hearing more.

Step 4. STICK TO THE AGENDA
Can you tell by the all caps that this one is important? 

Step 5. Celebrate your success.
Continue to encourage each other. Celebrating every little win along the way. Showing up for weekly meets is a win in my book. So CELEBRATE.

It’s really that simple. And it can create the most powerful positive change in your life that you’ve ever imagined.

I have a new OPRF Mom Squad accountability group starting in January. If you’d like to join us please email me and I’ll send you more details. This group will be all about community, accountability (of course), growth, support and happiness. You WILL come out on the other side of this group with more daily happiness than you ever thought possible. Hope to hear from you.

Holding you accountable,

Steffani
