Prepare for the New Year: 4 Simple Steps to Manifest Anything

We all want to create the life of our dreams, right?

With the New Year right around the corner we’re all focusing on making this our BEST YEAR YET.

So here are the basics…..

If you are familiar with the basics of the law of attraction, then you know how to use it. You know that thoughts become things. You know that your thoughts place an order and you know that what you focus on you’ll get more of. It’s that simple, right?

So why isn’t it working?  Feels a little empty I know.

Even if we KNOW our thoughts become things there are still things we WANT.  Why aren’t we ALL living the life of our dreams?

Sometimes we try and try to manifest a certain thing…. a certain relationship…..a certain weight……a new job……more money……a speaking gig at your favorite conference (ok maybe that’s just me). But why hasn’t it happened yet?

Here’s a great tool that will help you.

Are you ready for change? For the 2017 of your DREAMS? Then buckle up and let’s get started….

Step #1. Get excited and KNOW that it will come!

The first and probably most important step in this 4 step process is GET EXCITED! Really get excited! Let’s pretend that I’m a world renowned psychic and I just looked into your very near future and told you that your most treasured dreams, your most sought after goals are happening to you right now. They’ve been ordered and they’ve been shipped. They’ll be arriving shortly. What would you do? Would you celebrate? Would you jump for joy? You would par-tay! You would get excited. You would think holy cow it’s actually happening. So get in that feeling place get excited and KNOW that it will come. Have faith, stay strong and celebrate its arrival.

Step #2. Change your thoughts by any means possible.

So this step is very important and usually a little challenging for people. You see, you can’t expect great things when you’re thinking lousy thoughts. So if you have any negative or contradictory thoughts to that big manifestation you’re working towards you MUST change those thoughts. How do I change those thoughts you ask? Well, there are a lot of options here. Choose one that works for you. You can first try and stamp “cancel” on the thought when it comes up. Use this great phrase shared with me by my friend and teacher Andy Dooley. “Stop cancel clear, I have nothing to fear, all my love is here.” You can repeat powerful affirmations, write affirmations daily, read affirmations daily. You can read books that inspire you, surround yourself with people who inspire you. You can do things you love. Redirect your thought to something you love. You can also try the very effective and profound work of Byron Katie which teaches you to inquire on the stressful thought, ask four questions and then turn it around. Look into more ways to change those negative thoughts and change them by any means possible. Your thoughts MUST align with your dreams. So think good thoughts, stay positive and remember those thoughts are creating things in your life.

Step #3. Be grateful for where you are and appreciate every little success.

Soak in gratitude. Bathe in appreciation. Be overwhelmingly grateful for exactly where you are. After all there is a lot to be thankful for isn’t there? You have everything you need at this perfect moment in time. Be grateful for every little success. For the fact that you’re here, you’re breathing, you’re smiling, you’re manifesting. You have created the right and perfect life that you have around you right now. And if you want to enhance that perfect life, you have to be grateful for it. Celebrate every success, appreciate every success. From that parking space to the smell of coffee soak it all in and FEEL grateful.

Step #4. Do what makes you happy and let it flow.

Now, here’s the fun part, sit back, smile and allow it all in. The key to allowing that manifestation into your life right now and for good is to FEEL GOOD! It’s that easy. Be happy. Do what you love. Do every little thing that makes you happy and you’re bound to feel good. When you’re laughing, when you’re smiling, when you could do what you’re doing all day then you’re in the flow. There’s nothing that can stop you. You’re powerful beyond measure. And in that happy state of mind you’re manifestations are moving at the speed of light. You’ve done it. It’s here. Sit back and enjoy it!

Mike Dooley author of the great book Infinite Possibilities says “Thoughts Become Things!” And Wayne Dyer eloquently teaches “you create your thoughts, your thoughts create your intentions, your intentions create your reality.” Get excited, change your thoughts, be grateful and be happy. 4 Ways To Do More Of What You Love

About a month ago I spoke at a local women’s guild. 

It might be my favorite thing in the world…. to share the tools that have helped me create more daily happiness with other moms. 

It SETS ME ON FIRE!  It’s that thing I could do ALL DAY LONG and never tire of it. 

I remember the first day I taught a workshop on something I LOVE.  The hours flew by.  I was energized and almost shaking from the inside out.  That’s how you know. 

I didn’t always know.  About 10 years ago I started exploring my passion. I was on a quest to find it.  I hired a coach.  I read books.  I went to meet ups.  I hired another coach.  All in search of my “passion”.  I had NO idea what it was.  Or how to find it. 

The good news is I did find it.  But not through those efforts.  I found my passion by following what I love.  I didn’t discover it like I thought, by searching for it.  I uncovered it by following my bliss.  By doing more of what I love and less of what I don’t. 

It was a lot easier than I thought.  And now I help my clients hone in on what they love, what they’re passionate about.

What is the #1 topic you’d love to discuss at a dinner party? 

Now we’re talking.  Once you tap into that you never turn back. 

I know what you’re thinking…. “but what if I don’t know?” 

Well I’m here to tell you, you DO know.  You know.  You’re just not tapping into it.   

So many of my clients say they don’t know what they want.  They don’t know what they love.  They don’t know what they’re passionate about. 

I’m sorry but you do!

You might be afraid of it.  You might be out of touch with it.  You might be denying it.  But you know.  Only YOU know! 

If you are one of the many who don’t know what you’re passionate about. 

Here are a few suggestions how you can tune back in. 

#1.  Get quiet

We can’t hear our guidance when our monkey mind is busy chatting about our to do list.  When we get quiet we give our guidance a minute to speak up.  Have you ever sat and asked “what do I love?” “What is my passion?” Ask.  Sit.  Get quiet.  And ask again.  You’ll be amazed what comes up. 

#2.  Look at what you look at

When you read a magazine what are you attracted to?  When you read a book what do you like to read about?  When you travel where do you go?  What are you drawn to?  What’s interesting to you?  What blogs do you read?  What podcasts do you listen to?  A lot of us have clear desires and interests but we just don’t realize they’re unique.  I had a talk with my sisters once many years ago.  We all thought the others were excited and interested in the same things.  I mean we’re sisters.  We have so many similarities and backgrounds.  But we were COMPLETELY different.  Tammi loves teaching aerobics and working out.  Terri loves taking care of kids and playing with babies.  I love singing, acting and speaking.  So different.  Look at what you’re interested in.  Follow that. 

#3.  Look at what you DON’T want

When we feel we don’t know what we want.  We usually DO know what we DON’T want.  So here’s an easy process to look at that, taught to me by my awesome friend Michael Losier. 

  • Take out a blank piece of paper and draw a line down the center of it
  • Write what you’re NOT passionate about on the left side
  • Then strike through each one and write something you ARE passionate about on the right side across the line

This easy process usually draws out a lot of things you DO want and you are interested in.  See what comes up for you.

#4.  Ask a friend

If you have a few close friends I’m 1000% sure they’ll have suggestions for you.  They will tell you where your expertise lies.  They’ll happily share with you what you love to do and talk about.  What you’re great at.  Don’t be surprised if they know before you do.  So check in with them.

How YOU Can Be Your HEALTHIEST Self

I used to be a runner. Not growing up, not in my 20’s but in my 30’s I became a runner.

I did the Chicago Marathon, and many triathlons including a 1/2 Ironman.

After 6 years of races and tri’s I decided to hang it up. I literally pictured screwing big hooks in the ceiling of my Lincoln Park apartment and hanging up my bike, my shoes and my wetsuit. I was done! So done!

I never went back to races. Everyone said I would but I didn’t. I still work out. And don’t get me wrong I work out hard. I’m in better shape now than I was then.

And then recently my husband started running. What?! He’s 41 and has never run in his life. Since I love to spend time with him I started running with him. And as you can imagine, a race comes up.

Yesterday I ran my first 10K in ten years. And get this. It was easy. I felt awesome. I had run a few 3 mile runs but that was it.  And I finished in under an hour, with a negative split, feeling great!

I tell you all this to remind myself and you that ANYTHING is possible. We CAN create the health and fitness that we dream of. At ANY age. Stop with the excuses. End the negative self talk. It’s ALL possible.

After doing that yesterday I signed up for a 9 mile race. Why? Because CHALLENGE creates CHANGE. And I want to push my limits and create something new.
